This is because the Prime Minister is facing a no-confidence vote and major political blow back for a "maskless" party that occurred at 10 Downing Street a month or so ago during the lockdowns that he put in place. The British public and even members of his own Conservative Party are going ape-PePePeshittatata over the hypocrisy.....15 members of his own party signed a letter calling for a no-confidence vote and recall. The lifting of the mandates is his attempt to deflect from a major political/career crisis from him.
