      News reports saying a patient who had the Coronavirus and was "cured" has since been reinfected with the Coronavirus.

      Could this be possible? Was the patient actually cured? Did the patient for sure have the Coronavirus both times?

        Lots of buzz today with the CDC basically saying it's an inevitable problem for us in the US, it's only a matter of when.

        This definitely concerns me as most people I've heard talking on the subject have said things along the lines of "they wont want to create hysteria therefore will sweep it under the rug until they no longer can hide it"

        Of course then ththat's those that say they'll blow it out of proportion for some sort of gain. So who knows.

        I also saw san fran is thinking about declaring a state of emergency before theres even been a confirmed case in there area. Crazitown

          With the huge homeless population and raw sewage in the streets, San Francisco is basically Middle Ages London. It is only a matter of time before corona, or the plague, starts validating Darwin's theory and self-corrects that mess.

            yeah, bonafide sh!thole. i have family outside sacramento that is constantly asking us to move closer. damn i wouldn't want to be anywhere near that close to SF even though I love the sierra nevadas and to me that's still too close to live LOL.
            here I have friends and job opportunities in the capital region, but just don't personally want to live that close to NYC!

          Not exactly pleasant to think about, but this outbreak is likely to reshape the political map a bit assuming that certain groups will have to accept reality when bodies start piling up. Could be wrong. I might be underestimating people's ability to deny reality.

                ALBANY — New York confirmed its first positive case of coronavirus on Sunday night.

                Gov. Andrew Cuomo said the first case of novel coronavirus — or COVID-19 — was diagnosed in a woman in her late 30s, who contracted the virus traveling abroad in Iran.

                She is isolated in her home. The woman lives in Manhattan, a state official told the USA TODAY Network New York.

                Cuomo said the patient has respiratory symptoms, “but is not in serious condition and has been in a controlled situation since arriving to New York.”

                Cuomo said the first case, which came after more than two dozen negative tests on patients, was confirmed at the state’s Wadsworth Lab in Albany, just a day after New York received federal approval to test for the virus in-state.

                  I haven't been keeping up to much on this at all. From what tiny bit I've gathered it doesn't actually seem to be that big of a deal in first world countries as far as being extra deadly compared to flu.

                  The big impact I'm worried most about is the economic damage it's causing. All the quarantines especially in China where tons of worlds manufacturing takes place is slowing things down which are then effecting businesses and manufacturing across globe who use parts from China etc.

                  Plus this whole thing shows are screwed we are if there was a real deadly outbreak.
