As others have said better to have it than to wish you had one when you need it. Mine is 6500 watts and 8500 peak. t.

I run a Homelite that I bought in 1979, it's 1800 rpm and will run for days at an easy lope
I have to run a well, barn, etc
9000 watts just does it

that and it is a 16 hp Kohler derated to 9 hp @1800 rpm

I think my biggest concern in hooking up a reliance box is setting up outlet outside. I think that's because I'm putting a hole through outside of house lol.
