Last time I looked over the weekend BJs still had plenty.

Maybe I should have bought extra to sell in a few weeks. There was quite a bit left when I went and a guy was bringing a whole new pallet into the aisle as I left.

I am not understanding this paranoia, or is the virus giving people the runs?

Plus this type of thing is what makes buying the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle useful, other than basic wrapping or packing paper too, obviously.

It is a shame when people demanding tolerance, have no tolerance

Anyone notice similarities between the panic buying of toilet paper and the panic buying of ammo from ~2013 on?

I live in Livingston county. Calmer out here than in Roch. Wife an I went out tonight about 6 just to see what it was like. Went to Aldis, Wegmans, and Walmart. Got a few food items that we wanted. No hand sanitizer at all. Got some regular soap at Wegmans for my daughter that lives in the city. The big news was Walmart was bringing skids piled high of TP and paper towels. I’m sure it’s probably gone now but at least it getting replenished.

I hit Wally World around 9:30 last night. I was disappointed in how stocked it was. It was light in the paper products, bread, eggs, and cold/flu medicine. I was able to get everything I needed though.

True. If/When things stop getting restocked people are really going to freak out.

That's a good question though, let's assume the stores run out of food or essentials. How will the government provide those needed items to people who don't have them? They'll have to do something to prevent unrest.

But why is it the government’s responsibility?

Their responsibility is to maintain order and people without supplies will likely do whatever it takes to get what they need for themselves and family.

Who knows what percentage of our supplies come from China or outside the US? I've heard people say most companies have three weeks of products, but no idea how accurate that is, and obviously doesn't apply to a lot of perishable goods. A certain percentage of products that are from domestic suppliers will continue to be produced, but perhaps at a reduced rate. How much will transportation of goods get interrupted?

No idea how long this thing is going to last, especially if everyone is trying to 'flatten the curve' by stretching things out. Could get sporty.
