I think we can explain things if they are interesting to people. If we want to learn and share I am happy to develop and find easier explanations in
the areas I can contribute.
A clear example or two would be very helpful.
Thanks.

It appears that language is more the issue than technical topics. Concerning the technical topics, if it's over your head or just don't understand the normal thing would be to ask a question and I will not go over the stupid question thing as we all know about " the only stupid question ". In conveying an idea
SPELLING COUNTS... It's sometimes hard to grasp an idea if the spelling is all wrong.
To make it easy for some to understand the language issue perhaps this may help. If you wouldn't want to have to explain to your adolescent son or daughter or grandchild for that matter what " blow me " or some other language means well just maybe you shouldn't type it on these pages... Shooting is a family sport and perhaps some of you view, or may view this site in the future with your kiddies...
just sayin'...Last edited by Tony; 02-20-2015, 04:56 PM.

I can explain the entire process of developing a wildcat. In order to discuss we better hop on to the corresponding thread and we dont need to be experts to exchange ideas and answer questions. The learning comes naturally as we study and practice. so let me know what caliber and what aspects are more interesring or I guess I could cover a general idea of developing a wildcat using a high level overview to start.Athiest. Tony, there is never an honest "stupid" question, only stupid answers sometimes.
24, black magic? lmao... nothing like that at all. I will give an outline of the wildcat concept from inception. It can get complex but it can be very simple too. Initially to develop something that performs and most important, that it is safe, is not a huge deal. Let me think about this and I will post under the 7mm Gunner or the other thread. ..stay connected. LOLIt is a shame when people demanding tolerance, have no tolerance

I'm sure that most of you have read some of my more through threads both here and at NYF, and can conclude that I can layout things in an orderly fashion that is easy to understand. I also like to include pictures (doesn't everyone like pictures???) that you normally don't see online of items, to show greater detail of the object being scrutinized.Last edited by Lord Timelord; 02-20-2015, 05:10 PM.NRA Life Member

I've been thinking about this since I saw the OP yesterday. I honestly don't know what a complete solution to our growing pains. It's nice to come crack jokes with one another and inject some irreverent humor but I can see it from the perspective of outside looking in. Some people aren't a fan of cursing or dirty humor, some are which is life in general. Heck, my parents curse way more than I do (unless I'm working on something, lol!). I've been guilty as well but over the last two weeks or so I've tried to tone it down a little.
I go back to my radio days in college of if you drop certain words on the air you can be fined and I'm not talking about a dollar swear jar. I'm talking you can kiss that new gun you want and your job goodbye...possibly your car as well. That's kinda how I've started thinking about this place. Although we don't broadcast we are still accessible to anyone with an internet connection. I even edited the first NYSG promo the way I did to make it FCC friendly, at least for cable, lol! Which by the way, I'm about to start working on some more NYSG promos that cater toward obtaining new members.
We could start a "basement" but as Thughes has stated that doesn't seem to do much if any good. We could make this a "pay to be a member site" but if we went that route the content would have to be stellar for people to be willing to fork over money. Not that we don't have stellar content. I just don't know if we have enough to go this route at this point.
Maybe the best solution is to self govern ourselves and use good judgement. Just my humble opinion.
I was thrilled when I got an email from CG about this place two days after the election (I needed a pick me up) and I've been honored that he and USMC have let me help with things on the site like the site banner, promos etc!! This place has so much potential it's crazy! I hope they'll let me continue to help
As far as attracting vendors I can only offer this experience I learned when I worked at a TV station in Amarillo, TX. We were the NBC and Fox affiliate for our market. One day I heard one of the sales people complaining to another they were frustrated that they couldn't sell any local air time during Animation Domination on Sunday night (The Simpsons, Family Guy etc). I asked why since they are popular shows. The response was those shows were "too liberal" and "disgusting" so no one locally wanted to buy air time advertising their business during that time frame. Not even the skateboard shops or many other businesses that probably had a lot of their customer base watching those shows.
Ok, enough of that.
As far as firearms talk goes I'm with Camper in that I don't know a whole heck of a lot. I know how to load and shoot most firearms, the difference between a shotgun, rifle, semi-auto pistol and revolver, what the numbers for calibers mean and a few other things. However, if you ask me to disassemble and reassemble one I'd try but can't promise it will ever work right again. Customizing is another thing I have no clue how to do. However, these are all things I would like to learn and here is an excellent place to do so! The thing with me is I don't make or have a lot of money so buying a new firearm isn't going to happen anytime soon sadlyHope that makes sense.
I can offer way more advice on how to shoot with a video camera and get footage to look good even on a smartphone and how to troubleshoot editing problems to make your video come out great even if you have no budget. That's where I really shine.
Ok, I'm done rambling. Back to your regularly scheduled GMM!I could be wrong...it's happened before and it'll happen again.

Just a quick lil info giver to the "newer" peeps here..a fewof the Mods and Admins from the other land are members here in happy good standing and have been since the first days. We have all learned to be coexisting grownups, they have their home with their rules and we got ours but everyone lives in harmony here..just a tad of an FYI so there isn't any bashing and thread after thread of why you may not like it there or why you may have left..it's for the children..and for the sake of Cg to not have a heart attack or a stroke

Jimbo, you're awesome bro. Whatever you want just go for it we're an open canvas. As far as hoping we let you keep doing what you're doing, I think I can safely speak for USMC and me and say the feeling is likewise... we hope you continue to do what you do. And when we grow a little bit, I hope to give some back for all the efforts (not speaking for USMC there, with new house on the way and all, lol). I bought a few more domains with the GMM and WGT theme for you to play with. Go for it!
Mek, you're one of the tres amigos as far as I'm concerned. Brother actually. Enough said.
As for 4ex... keep up the good fight bro. You make me laugh. I may be stroking out soon but its nothing to do with this place.
As for the rest of you guys and gals - you should know me well enough by now that I take life with a grain of salt. Not too much that really bothers me. Just asking to treat the site like you'd treat your family, because that is what we are after all, one extended disfunctional family...
Carry on folks... and thanks for all of your support.
