According to the site you can bring your own but they will provide free loaners and holsters if you want to try them out. Makes sense to me that they want you to try and buy. They also give you a 20% discount in their pro shop after taking a class. I'm planning to bring my M&P but am considering trying out a Sig just because.

So far it looks like the best dates (for me) are Sunday 2/15 and Monday 2/16 as only one day out of office. Friday 2/6 and Sat 2/7 may not work as Saturday looks like it may be full. Let me know what you guys think.

I spoke with Kathleen from Sig Academy today and asked a bunch of questions. C your estimates are right on at approx $500 per class all in. Classes are all day - 8 hours. Here's my BOE for 2 classes over 2 days - just cut everything in half for a one day class:
Class discount: They provide a 20% discount certificate for your next class during the class session. If you are registering for more than one class at atimne be sure to put both in shopping cart and discount will be applied to one class.
*Ammo cost is for required frangible ammo as classes on indoor range until April (approx). 9MM frangible ammo currently at $25/50rds or 50 cents per round (other calibers higher). Expect to use 250 rds for Handgun 102 and 300 rds for Handgun 103 (550 rounds at $0.50 = $275). I just picked up a Winchester 100rd value pack at Walmart for $27 ($0.27 per rd) so incremental cost per round to use frangible from Sig vs bringing own during summer is approx. $0.23 per rd or $127 in total for 2 classes.
Sig pistol and holster usage is free. They use different models so you have the opportunity to try at a minimum the 226 (full size), 229 and 239 (compacts) or the 250 (modular from sub compact to full size - new concept to me). http://www.sigsauer.com/CatalogProdu...tols-p250.aspx
You just let instructor know what you want to use when you get there. Free rental/usage takes away concerns about bringing firearms into NH (see next section).
Firearms in NH: Sig Academy recommends talking to the State Police about transporting firearms into NH and will not provide any advice on safe carriage. I assume that Federal laws apply for transport but NH does NOT accept NYS licences or non-resident permits (e.g. UTAH or Florida). I will likely call the State Police but may bypass the whole issue by leaving my pistol at home and using Sig's.
Accommodations: listed on Sig Academy site but the Hampton Inn recommended as Dunkin Donuts and multiple restaurants within walking distance. Rate is $94/night.
Travel and Meals - a total SWAG and will depend on where you come from and what you like to eat (e.g. CG is likely a prime rib guy and Chicken eats, well you know...)
Other: I told Kathleen that this was a fairly experienced group with different levels of training. The important part of Handgun 2 is the holster work - everything else is fairly basic. I have not done any holster work/training in the past despite being an NRA Certified Basic Pistol Instructor, so I will definitely be taking 102 first. Those of you who have done this type of training with MDTS or other in the past will likely skip right over this but you will need to provide support when you register. Read the class descriptions for what they cover and require as instructors will ask you to leave if they are not comfortable with your skill demonstrations.
On a final note I may just enroll for Tuesday 1/6 and Wednesday 1/7 (next week) just so I can enjoy the gift certificates I received before the new year starts heating up/taking off in January.
Let me know if you have questions.Last edited by Calculon; 12-30-2014, 03:25 PM.Ok I can go a couple ways

I really like the concept of that P250, the only hang up I have is the DAO. Sig does have a really nice DA trigger pull but I prefer the DA/SA with the decocker.Beer is like porn, you can buy it but it's more fun to make your own
I have to bend over too far
I get a boner.
bareback every couple of days, GTG. Bareback, brokeback, same $hit!
I joined a support group to help me deal with my social anxiety but I just can't seem to work up the nerve to go to a meeting......
