I slacked off on my shooting during the college years, and only shot prior to hunting season through my 20s. In my late 20s i really got back to shooting, and in a big way, but the pistol permit process was so absurd i didnt bother with it for a number of years. Eventually, i bit the bullet and started the permit process.
Wow, Celt, your story seems almost identical to mine. Grew up shooting, mostly .22s and when a little older advancing to the hunting rounds (.308 and .30-.06). Didn't get around to it much during college years and then in late 20s got back into it in a big way, mostly through getting my permit and getting bit by the handgun bug. Probably a bigger gun nut now than anyone else in my family, minus my uncle who lives in Wyoming, mostly so he can own any gun he damn well pleases.
