Ah, the infamous wrong height bipod. It used to happen to me all the time until I bought all the sizes...lol. Never got around to sending the wrong ones back. But the upside is I know which one I like best now. I usually go with the 9" - 13". I bought the 6"-9" and it is only good for bench on a level range. No chance of uphill shots.

I also like the friction lock legs...not the notches, and the hinged base with the locking arm.

The 12' - 25" isn't bad for field shooting, but I prefer the shorter one.

I'm glad the one you have works for you but I haven't had good luck with other brands. The spring tension needs to be right, and it needs to take the recoil of heavy caliber guns when I need it to.

It helps that it's on a .22-250 so there isn't much recoil, and it rarely gets used.

On the plus side, I got a swivel stud mount out of the deal so I can use any picatiny mount bipods now.

I bought this http://www.ebay.com/itm/Portable-Ult...item1c3a0e6178 which is a knock off but different then the MSR one. It's cheap and so far has worked very well! I think I got it cheaper a couple years ago but still well worth the price.

This is the one I am using on all my rifles..It has worked great for me while I have used it,granted I have not used it as much as I would have like to this past summer..
