I've got a 16 gun non electric combination safe from when they were made in East Rochester. Recently becoming harder to operate and finally you couldn't throw the bolts. Took it apart cleaned the bolts and lubed with dry film lubricant and it does operate now. Seems a poor design with all force of throwing leaver unbalanced high on a single bar that then moves bolts. Anyone have experience this? Thanks

Same here. Got my Sentry when they were still made in ER as well. Mine got sticky, needed a lot of pressure to open. So now every 6 months or so I hit the bolts with a little WD40 and then work them back and forth for a little bit. Been fine ever since.Sticky Lips at High Noon!

I had a small Sentry as well sitting on top of thengun safe with important documents in it. Was prob 10 years old, and hadn't been opened in maybe 2. Tried to get in one day and the handle would not turn. Reefed on it a little and it something broke internally. Had to take it to work and use the cutoff wheel to take the entire front face off to get in. Took a solid hour.Sticky Lips at High Noon!
