    Neighbors

    I'm starting to lose faith in humanity and wanting to move somewhere my nearest neighbor is at least 1/4 mile away.

    It snowed last night. This happens in Rochester. In order to have the driveway cleared so my wife and I could be ready to leave for work this morning, I had to get started fairly early. I probably had the snowblower started at 6:45 this morning and it took me until 8:30 to finally be done clearing the driveway and brushing off the cars.

    Our one neighbor who only works part time from home decided to send some nasty messages to my wife saying that's too early to be snowblowing because she was trying to sleep. Apparently I need to cater my schedule to the convenience of my neighbor.

    In other news, I feel the need to promote a book written by my other neighbor who doesn't give me grief about anything. If you're looking for a compilation of mildly inappropriate short jokes, please buy this book by my neighbor who isn't an ass. He doesn't know that I'm promoting his book. I'm just doing it because he's not an ass.

    Well in a world where our economy is struggling it's important to get to work for society. F u c k your neighbor lol. I was snow blowing at 7am myself. I wasn't the only one.

    On more than one occasion I've used my snowblower to help clear her driveway when I've seen her shoveling. In the fall I always make sure I rake up the leaves well over the property line into her property. When I had the trees trimmed a few years ago I paid to have some dead limbs that hung over her property trimmed off at my own expense. The arborist even suggested I ask her to pitch in for the cost, but I said "nah, I'm just trying to be a good neighbor".

    But I don't dare interrupt her sleep by snowblowing my driveway so my wife and I can get to work in the morning.

    I just don't get the nerve of some people.

    My other neighbor doesn't clean up his leaves very well. His yard is always a mess and often his trash blows into my yard. I think we have two cardboard boxes from his recycling bin buried in the snow somewhere in our side yard. But, you should buy his book if you're looking for a book of jokes: because he's not an ass.

    Get up at 5:00 am tomorrow and go snowblow her driveway for her, then put the machine away and go back to bed.

      Over the summer we had a hard rain and her changes to her landscaping was causing a huge amount of water to dam up against the below grade section of her house. I knew that section of her house has flooded before. I alerted her to the situation, then pulled out all my own garden hoses and managed to use the slope of the yard to siphon the water around the landscaping and away from her house.

      I guess next time I'll just look at all the water and mind my own business. Wouldn't want to risk interrupting her nap or something.

            The next door neighbor with the inappropriate joke book will be the one I look out for.

              I have 1 neighbor with three boys. Never seen them lift a shovel. She is also the lady that bothers about everything I do. She thinks she is queen Peshitta because her husband grew up in the first house built on this road. Her dogs are always in our yard leaving piles. I won’t help her. They wait for the other neighbor with the plow that has never offered to help me even after doing his and his double house across the street when his plow broke.
              another neighbor also now has a plow but doesn’t help me either even after helping him out also. Another has a blower.
              So basically I just take care of myself

                My just neighbor used to use a low power (spring) BB gun to discourage dogs. ????

                  Glad I've always been blessed with great neighbors.

                  We moved into our house the first week of November 2003. Me and the wife went out of town for Thanksgiving and came home late Sunday night to a foot of snow and the end of the driveway totally impassable. I got about 5 shovel fulls in when the neighbor across the street was coming down the road in his plow truck. He says "yo, get out the way!" Scrapes me out in about 10 minutes, and wouldn't take the $20 I offered. "Welcome to the neighborhood!" he yelled as he drove off. Hes been plowing for me ever since.

                    We got about 8" of dense heavy snow overnight. It's going to suck to shovel it by hand.

                    Guess which neighbor's driveway I'm not going to snowblow. Guess which neighbor's driveway I already cleared.
