Has this actually happened yet, .....or is it just planned?

Your point about the hypocrisy stands either way, but I'm still wondering how the bump stock thing is actually going to play out.

Well, continuing with the hypocrisy theme: Trump did state that he would ban bump stocks with an EO, which shut the liberals up, but he hasn't actually attempted to do so yet. Now, how hypocritical would it be of the libs to loudly and publicly demand that he "follow through on a promise that he made"? He's made several other promises too: border wall, repeal obamacare, etc.

So in the case of the bump stock thing, the libs can only STFU and go away. Mission accomplished.

Whom are You talkin' about, Willis ..??

              from the Article--

Contrary to popular belief, the 14th Amendment doesn’t say that all people born in the U.S. are citizens. It says that “all persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof” are citizens. That second, critical, conditional phrase is conveniently ignored or misinterpreted by advocates of “birthright” citizenship.

But that is not what that qualifying phrase means. Its original meaning refers to the political allegiance of an individual and the jurisdiction that a foreign government has over that individual.

Today many people do not seem to understand the distinction between partial, territorial jurisdiction – which subjects all foreigners who enter the U.S. to the jurisdiction of our laws – and complete political jurisdiction, which requires allegiance to the U.S. government as well.

Some of you may have taken an Oath to the United States if you were, perhaps, in the armed services
Most of us can not be United States Citizens as there is no "duty of protection for a duty of allegiance"

the S. Ct. has held the .Gov has no Duty to protect an individual "Citizen"
see: De Shaney v Winnebago County, as one of hundreds of these Cases

              further,
E.O. only apply to .Gov actions and workers, not to You and I

saaaay, next time you have to check the box that you are "a U.S. Citizen" to open a bank account
              think carefully

"Citizens" -- have Duties, Privileges, and Immunities

My understanding is that "birthright citizenship" was the result of bureaucratic laziness more than any legal understanding of the 14th amendment. It was a huge headache for hospitals and local governments to properly determine citizenship of parents who have birth in their jurisdiction. So rather than develop a system to accurately determine citizenship, they just started granting citizenship ro US born babies.

Whether that explanation is correct or not, it points out a potential problem with any attempt to change the current system. Trump can sign an EO. The SCOTUS can rule in his favor. Without a system in place to accurately determine citizenship of the parents, it's going to be a mess. We can all count on California to do whatever it can to not comply with any federal system they come up with.

Edit: Chances are we'll end up with a mess where some states will have birthright citizenship and others won't.

14th Amendment Citizens are a creation of Congress, and as such, have only the privileges and Immunites granted by a Article l tribunal
