  • Portland Riots

I would learn more about what's going on in Portland, but I can't seem to get past watching the beginning of this clip where some guy knocks an antifa protester out cold. It's stick/baton vs. bare hands and the antifa protester with the baton drops like a sack of potatoes.

restraint at one's liberty for a civil issue

I am more tham happy to offer elucidation, and at some point a .pdf of the Case, so people may learn to fight back

RPD Officer "didn't like the color of "red" that the DEFENDANTS tail light was

said Defendant, when asked for a "drivers license, and Insurace" then asked
"MAY ANY OF THESE DOCUMENTS BE USED AGAINST ME IN A COURT"

RPD Officer then asked for .Gov I.D.

Defendant stated that "he needed assistance of counsel as well as an A.D.A. representative --he has some diisability related to auditory instructions

said RPD Officer went off the wall, Defendant spent 2 days in Solitary Confinement for "failure to produce an" Insurance Card"
    a traffic infraction

sorry, RocPo, but this is one of your fellow employees

    mr. willie did ask

Well this is interesting. All those times I tried to assert my rights for traffic violations when I was younger but the ADAs and judges made it clear the rules didn't apply to traffic violations? The time I didn't receive the supporting deposition I requested, but when I brought that up with the East Rochester judge she got ornery with me and berated me in front of the court until I felt like I had no other option but to pay up? The time I took an accident ticket to trial in Ohio and clearly established reasonable doubt and got the issuing officer to admit as much on the stand but the judge gave me a guilty verdict anyways?

          hhhmmmnnn ...
when you were 16 there, willie ..
didn't the nice people at DMV explain to you that by agreeing to be a licensed "driver",
you were agreeing to be regulated, and waiving certain constitutional protections ..??
I mean, you were anticipating being a taxi "driver" ( same license) right ..??

          p.s.

          you have plenty of company..
as a kid, I always had bad luck in Brighton
like a ticket for "crossing a solid white line....
in a snow storm, with like 6" of snow on the road
still remember it cost me a weeks pay
          GUILTY !!! $70 NOW!!

I got my first ticket in college and naively thought traffic court was actually about guilt or innocence. I quickly realized that it's all a game to get your money and changed my approach accordingly.

It's funny you mention Brighton. I successfully got my wife (girlfriend at the time) cleared of a ticket in Brighton traffic court. The ADA might have wanted to play games, but his case folder was open and I was taller than him. I had a perfect view of the ticket with the appropriate box checked to request a supporting deposition. I pointed that out and we were dismissed. This was over 10 years ago, but I had a favorable impression of the judge at the time. We watched one case get argued by the defendant and the judge actually hit the ADA with some good questions the defendant hadn't thought of. It wasn't the "I'm going to rely on intimidation while ignoring what the laws actually say" nonsense I encountered in east Rochester with that jerk female judge.

Hopefully the Portland PD will soon refuse to answer the call, forcing the mayor to choose between begging the Feds for help or letting the city burn.

The ACLU of Oregon wrote in statement:
The idea of “preventive detention” to incapacitate or chill future protest is absolutely inconsistent with constitutional principles of due process and free expression, which are critical safeguards of our democracy.

Translation: "locking up looters and arsonists disproportionately affects people of color"

              SMFH......

Beer is like porn, you can buy it but it's more fun to make your own

I have to bend over too far

              I get a boner.

bareback every couple of days, GTG. Bareback, brokeback, same $hit!

I joined a support group to help me deal with my social anxiety but I just can't seem to work up the nerve to go to a meeting......

There is a good chance things might get even crazier in Portland now that a devoted Antifa member succumbed to US Marshal gunfire.

Apparently the ACLU of Oregon is conflating protests with riots.

In a world where speech is violence and violence is speech, you'll get in trouble for yelling fire in a crowded theater, but not for actually setting fire to the theater.
