  • Powerless water pump

I fell down the YouTube black hole this morning and came across something I'd never heard of: ram pumps. With just a small amount of head pressure, you can pump water without any external power.

That is super cool. Have a friend that has a camp with gravity fed water source from up hill stream. Definitely going to show him this. Thanks.

I really want to make one just for Peshittas and giggles (and I probably will at some point), but I'd love to have an application for it to apply it to.

The head requirements really depend on the size of the system. The video I posted is running on only 5 or 6' of head.

yea, but you are only able to pump ounces of water per cycle at that ^P
5 psi is enough to overcome some length of discharge piping, as well as some discharge lift

Right, but like I said, it really depends on system requirements.
