  • Lunker Fish

This was the very first time I every caught something like this on Lake Champlain,He was quite the challenge to catch as I am only fishing with 8 lb test line,he weighed in at just a little over 17 lbs.

Can anyone guess what type of fish it is? I bet some of you will guess wrong as I sent some pictures to some of my good friends who I have fished with and they all guessed wrong...

I also landed a nice slab perch he was 14 inches long,

I could probably could get away with a 52 inch shaft but if I could get a 54 inch shaft that would be great as I could always adjust the length of the shaft

At first I was told by my Landlord it was a Carp but I have been told by a few fisherman it is a Sheephead( freshwater) they also know by the name Drum fish...Yeah it is very huge and when I seen it in the water it looks so much bigger you know how the water can magnify a fish bigger then what it actually is,no matter what it is still a huge fish for me especially when trying to land it..

When I hooked onto it I had know idea on what I had on as it took me nearly 15 minutes to just get it to the surface then another 5 minutes to get it close enough to net it..All I can say it was one hell of fight to land it,and as I mentioned what really made it fun to catch was fishing with 8 lb test line/..

Nice sheepshead!. We catch them when we're trolling for walleyes in the river here, those suckers get pretty big. I like they way they "talk" to you when you get 'em in the boat: burrrrrrp, burrrrrrp
Beer is like porn, you can buy it but it's more fun to make your own

I have to bend over too far

          I get a boner.

bareback every couple of days, GTG. Bareback, brokeback, same $hit!

I joined a support group to help me deal with my social anxiety but I just can't seem to work up the nerve to go to a meeting......

Are you talking about the red fin suckers making a sound or the sheephead,?.

If your talking about the sheephead making a sound, the one I caught did not make any sound what so ever..

Thanks Chris,I went fishing again today but my landlord and I only stayed out 5 hrs, reason being is where I am fishing the boat traffic today was terrible and was getting bounce around like a fishing bobber out there, lol ,Of course it is a Canadian holiday and being it is the weekend makes it that much worse out on the lake to fish especially where I am fishing.
