  • Looking for Archery Help

Anyone in Orange/ Rockland County area know enough about archery that they would be willing to give me a quick lesson on shooting a compound bow?
I can provide the archery range.

Pull the string back, aim, let the string go.
Old enough to know better, still too young to care

Basically that's what I do ...... now I just want to be able to hit the side of the barn I'm aiming at.

Well if you don't nock an arrow first you ain't gonna hit that barn, or anything else for that matter.

Simple, stand inside the barn (and close the door behind you).
Beer is like porn, you can buy it but it's more fun to make your own

I have to bend over too far

            I get a boner.

bareback every couple of days, GTG. Bareback, brokeback, same $hit!

i only have two pieces of advice, but they do help:

don't grip the bow, push against it
pull the string back to the same place every time. consistency is paramount, just like in shooting guns.

make sure you get a bow setup properly. Go to a dealer and have them set the draw and peep sight and everything up for you. If your bow is not set up properly you will not shoot effectively. +1 on what big flash said. If you hold it correctly - you will never slap your arm with the string. Get a mechanical trigger release too. Archery is not cheap either, seems everything is expensive.

Your bow MUST be set up for you before you do anything. Get that done and your experience will be much more enjoyable.
