  • Photos form range day yesterday and today.

Some flyers from this mush trigger, which makes it harder not to anticipate the shot, need to send it off for a trigger job. If I can group like that with an ancient rifle with mush trigger, people with tricked out rifles but cant zero, have zero excuses. Never has this rifle malfunctioned.

The zeroing target, dialing in the irons. Even when I run the scope its on 2X and use it both eyes open more like a reflex sight.

I took the range photos on my way back form a long walk. After my Coffee this morning the dog decided we were going for a long property walk. I come out of the office trailer, I was sipping my coffee, he started sniffing around the area the Coyotes tried to jump him. I said "get it" half joking, and he put his nose to the ground and we were off. From the house down the bush line that makes the fence between out property and the neighbors, through a deep ditch, through the woods to the end of the property where the tracks/scent goes across to our neighbors field he never lost the scent. Then since I would not let him leave our property, he decided to follow it back again, and on the way back I stopped at the range. I just target shoot, not really a hunter, he has never walked the property before ever, he was going on instinct alone. its about a mile from the house to end of the property, and he had no idea where he was going other than he just followed his nose and instincts.

Mushy trigger, cheap optic, and gas guard optipic mount everyone said would be inaccurate, not only does it hold a zero after it gets hot, but I took it off to zero my Iorns, out it back on when. I went for the walk, I tossed the rifle across the ditch both ways during the walk, and afterwards still blew up a stationary clay disc, standing unsupported, so it definitely held a zero.

Nice shooting, what kind of yardage? I got out Sunday for a bit myself, 200 yards with irons on my 1940's vintage Enfield No. 4 Mk1. It took three 10 round groups to get dialed in:

Beer is like porn, you can buy it but it's more fun to make your own

I have to bend over too far

          I get a boner.

bareback every couple of days, GTG. Bareback, brokeback, same $hit!

I joined a support group to help me deal with my social anxiety but I just can't seem to work up the nerve to go to a meeting......

I looked like a nice day out. With all the snow, scope, and all, it looks like a nice re-enhancement of "the enemy at the gates" :-)

Only out to about 50 yards, I need something with a little more reach, something in 7.62R next, I have an affinity for old commie guns.

SO update for this year, went to the range and walked the woods, this time irons only and realized how much the heavy scope rings added and threw off the balance, tomorrow I install a Bushnell TRS-25 red dot, bought a new bore site, so I can get on paper before I start burning ammo.

That's a great idea, ammo is definitely hard to come by now and don't want to waste it missing paper. Look forward to hearing how that goes.

So the phone died so I didn't get photos but I have the redot zeroed, I added a cheek riser to get perfect sight picture and cheek weld, new sling, and boy is it much better to handle withouth that heavy scope I have been carrying for years. I only shoot coyotes with it to keep them back to protect our chickens and dogs, and always had it on 2X so a red dot will be just as effective. Only thing I would of changed would of been to use the Archangel stock instead of the Topco.
