I have been meaning to read that Case again.I am guessing SCROTUS took that Case as NYSPRA argued the wrong question of Law, i.e. Regulation

Further, you will read in the decision in Kennedy v Breweton Schools just published
That the law firm did not argue R.F.P.A., but rather did Kennedy have a "Right"
    Wrong point of Law
No doubt in my mind that was why it was accepted for cert.

As I have stated many times, do not expect absolution from the S. Ct.
Just read Atwater v Lago Vista

More good news, looks like this one may actually get its day in court:

"In an order handed down Monday, the Supreme Court disagreed that the case immediately became moot after the city relaxed that regulation and the New York State Legislature approved a law addressing it."

"While there is still an off-ramp before the justices consider the merits of the regulations, their refusal to immediately reject the matter as moot may signal that a faction of the current high court has an appetite to take a closer look at the breadth of the Second Amendment’s meaning."

"To be clear, neither the state nor the city of New York publicly interpreted the challenged regulation to be unlawful. Attorneys for New York City had argued in the lower courts that the rule was promulgated to promote public safety and was lawful."

"The New York City Police Department, which first created the rule, conceded in its amendment to the regulation in April that it was proposing the change in an attempt to remove the case from the Supreme Court’s docket."

Really hoping NYs slimy attempt to get the case dismissed has the justices pissed off enough to make a big smackdown decision.

I've been frustrated by the way the states ignore Heller and Macdonald and the SCOTUS doesn't really have any way to really enforce its decisions. Would the justices be interested in sending a message to quit ignoring their decisions? Something to the effect of "Keep ignoring us and pushing the limits and we'll write a decision so far against your wishes you'll wish you'd never given anyone an excuse to bring a case before us".

I'm probably getting my hopes set way too high along with the rest of the gun community.

The fact that the antis are getting so fired up about this case is probably making me more optimistic than I should be. This TTAG article is probably way too optimistic, but it's an encouraging read.

                  https://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/the-new-york-state-rifle-pistol-association-supreme-court-case-circus-coming-to-dc/

In anticipation of what many anti-gun scholars saw as a likely smackdown by the Court, the New York State legislature backpedaled even further, passing a law preventing New York City from reinstating such restrictions at any time in the future.

It was, and is, an arrogant attempt to prevent the Court from ruling the City’s infringements of the right to keep and bear arms.

Part of Monday’s arguments will include a petition by the city to declare the case moot. But the panicked commentary in the media and the gun control orgs’ calls to action betray their fear over the possible outcome of the suit and its effect on gun control laws nationwide.

Amping up the agitation on the Left is the realization that the most recent justice to be installed on the Court, Brett Kavanaugh, is now in position to press his long-held view that all the “interest-balancing” contortions used by the lower courts in the past be set aside in favor of a straightforward review of Second Amendment cases using “history, text and tradition” to reach decisions.

The fact that NYC has gone to such great lengths to backpedal on their travel restrictions law is hilarious in one way, but infuriating in another. Their repeal of the travel law and further efforts to basically promise they won't reinstate it, are tantamount to admitting they know damn well they passed an unconstitutional law and violated their oaths of office by doing so. It's a blatant admission of the fact that pledging to obey the constitution means nothing and instead the order of the day is passing any law they please and only being concerned about the constitutionality of the law if they think it's going to get struck down. For that reason, I think that SCOTUS making an example of this case would do a wonderful thing for restoring the rule of law in this country. If SCOTUS rules strict scrutiny for all 2A cases to slap some sense in to lawmakers, perhaps our legislators will reconsider whether or not they want to push constitutional limits in other areas.

But now, gun control groups, led by Blooomberg front groups Moms Demand Action and Everytown for Gun Safety, are pleading with their supporters to flood the zone at the SCOTUS sidewalk on December 2nd, declaring “We must not let the NRA win!”
Meanwhile, with all this buzz from the antis, my tin foil hat is tingling a bit and has me nervous about what's going to pop on my news feed over the Thanksgiving weekend.

Second amendment should definitely call for strict scrutiny. No other amendment has the phrase of "shall not be infringed" which clearly indicates the added importance and need for extra protections regarding that amendment.

This could finally be a case that could settle the gun debate for a while. Although we also thought that about Heller and MacDonald....

                        Exactly.

Anyone who is fooled by their backpedaling needs their head examined. If they can write it, they can unwrite it.
